Since starting the Bubbly Traveler over two years ago I’ve never proactively engaged the blogging community until getting a Liebster, my first blog recognition. Many questions from the nominator got me thinking seriously about why I blog and what sort of goals I want to achieve. Engaging with other fellow bloggers has become a new priory of mine, the Bubbly Traveler got more traffic the past days but more importantly I’ve reached my readers and fellow bloggers in a more personal way. I felt LOVE all around and deeply thankful for whoever invented this chain letter idea.

So YES, I am humbled to accept the Sunshine Blogger Award, hoping to spread more love and positive energy in the blogosphere! Thank you sweet Audrey for the nomination and best of luck for her simple living endeavor. Want to know what it means to live simple and how she’s doing it? Check out her blog!

Sunshine Blogger Award is an online award given to bloggers who are positive and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere

MY ANSWERS TO AUDREY’S QUESTIONS:

1/ What is the story behind your blog’s name? The Bubbly Traveler represents a slice of me, the travel junkie self always eager to learn about the world.

2/ When and why did you start blogging? The first post goes back to last January but I didn’t get serious about blogging until eight months later. It was a big milestone as I quit job to chase my dream of traveling Europe – all by myself. So I thought why not document all these experiences.

3/ What, according to you, is the best thing about blogging? Blogging is a great way of connecting and inspiring people through stories. Everyone has a unique story to share, how beautiful isthat?

4/ Outside of blogging, do you engage in other types of writing? No. After quitting my reporting job, blogging is the only way I practice English writing.

5/ What is your advice for those trying to get into the world of blogging? Starting a blog can be a little frustrating but first, ask yourself what you’re passionate about, what you want to share with the world. People are interested in people’s stories, so add a personal touch to your posts and let the audience see part of you.

6/ What is/are your goal(s) for 2017? I will be in New Zealand immersing myself in its breath-taking nature, so the goal is to explore this wonderful country as much as I can. Stay tuned!

7/ Where are you from and what is the most common stereotype or misconception about your home town/state/country? I come from Vietnam where people never have peace until over 40 years ago. So many French and American people I’ve met thought we still have the post-war hatred towards them, but no, the war has long gone and we have respect for all foreigners.

8/ What kind of traveler are you – spontaneous or planner? Spontaneous.

9/ What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten while traveling? I love everything I’ve eaten so far except for the Italian fried artichokes. The cooked flowers were left uncut and oily, I had to pull off the outer petals one by one then eat the whole thing with hands. The taste was as much bizarre as it looked 😀

10/ Share your worst travel experience ever. Sometimes things may not go my way but no travel experience is a bad one. Travels made me grow. I once missed the night bus from Amsterdam to Prague, which was frustrating of course, because I had no where else to go. So I decided to call up my couch-surfing host to see if he could take me back for one more night. Lucky me he gave a safe place to stay. Problem solved! 😉

11/ What is one important lesson you have learnt in your travels? There’s always a way.
